1.  the great PATTY DUKE turns 65 today…man, that will age you, huh?  she, of course, starred in the “PATTY DUKE SHOW”, which ran from 1963-1966….it also starred WILLIAM SCHALLERT as her papa, JEAN BYRON as her mom, and PAUL O’KEEFE as her brother…

PATTY DUKE is 65 today…here’s what she looks like today…

2.  the only other star of the show to maintain and add to his acting credits was WILLIAM SCHALLERT…

he was in the STEVE MARTIN movie “THE JERK”, plus starred in other greats like “IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT,” “TEACHERS”, and many more.

he also did voice work on the saturday morning tv show “THE SMURFS”, and he was the voice of “MILTON THE TOASTER” on the classic commercials…

WILLIAM SCHALLERT is now 89 years old….here he is today…

3.  speaking of the movie “THE JERK”, the STEVE MARTIN classic debuted in theaters on this date in 1979…what a funny movie…even my boys love this classic….

4.  nothing like driving 20 miles an hour all the way from WARNER this morning…wow…and, just about fell on my butt when i hit the sidewalk….HOWEVER, if this is the worst winter has to offer, we’ll take it…ha ha

5.  i just love STIR FRY 88 in the LAKEWOOD MALL..one of my favorite places to eat…i will go there at noon, grab some bourbon chicken and orange chicken, and head out to the car and listen to the radio while i eat…oh yeah, and maybe a ten minute nap too….

6.  the guys at EDDIE’S NORTHSIDE gas station are so incredibly nice…it reminds me of the good old gas stations back in the 70’s where you could fill up and get some wonderful conversation while you’re inside….

7.  my grandpa worked at CENEX in VEBLEN for many many years, so i spent a ton of time hanging out with him at work…..and i STILL am the worst mechanic in the entire world…the only thing i know how to do is to replace the blinker fluid….

8.  PEANUTS IN COKE…remember that?  when we were kids, we ALWAYS dumped a bag of salted peanuts into our COKE bottles….don’t think i would do it again, though…

9.  monday was the biggest dayof the year for shipping gifts…in fact, FED-EX employees saw more packages than a double visioned urologist…..

10.  the “OCCUPY” movement is starting to gain steam with the elderly helping out…now the name has been changed to “OPERATION BEDPAN.”

11.  the INDIANAPOLIS COLTS are now 0-13…winless…their new logo is a horse carrying a football to the glue factory….

12.  the TORONTO zoo’s famed “gay penguins” have now found female companions…not for lovin’, just for going out to find FABULOUS SHOES…

13.  JOKE OF THE DAY:

Three men died on Christmas Eve and were met by Saint Peter at the pearly gates.

“In honor of this holy season,” Saint Peter said, “You must each possess something that symbolizes  Christmas to get into heaven.”

The first man fumbled through his pockets and pulled out a lighter. He flicked it on. “It represents a candle,” he said. “You may pass through the pearly gates,” Saint Peter said.

The second man reached into his pocket and pulled out a set of keys. He shook them and said, “They’re bells.” Saint Peter said, “You may pass through the pearly gates.”

The third man started searching desperately through his pockets and finally pulled out a pair of women’s glasses.

St. Peter looked at the man with a raised eyebrow and asked, “And just what do those symbolize?”

The man replied, “They’re Carol’s.”

HAVE A TREMENDOUS WEDNESDAY EVERYBODY…
