A SAD THING TO REPORT…..

i am very sad to report that my father has died. his name was DEAN HAALAND, but we lovingly called him “DEANO.”
i wrote a lot about him in recent years on the blog, and this past saturday afternoon, he died at the age of only 68……he had some health problems in recent years, but had been having a very nice few months until he left us.  so, it was kind of a shock to get the call.  of course, it’s a shock even if you know it is still coming.

my dad lived a great life….was a very loving father, husband, grandfather, and great grandfather.  the tributes that are coming in about him are just staggering…..

here he is at a young  age….

and here is our family…..

we spent today at SPITZER MILLER FUNERAL HOME in ABERDEEN making arrangements….tough tough day, but we share a ton of laughs as well………

someone who reads the blog has already asked me for my address, so here goes….

if you want to correspond with me, i will give you my address:

Jay Dean Haaland

p.o. box 306

Warner, S.D.  57479

i would appreciate your prayers….prayers in this world mean EVERYTHING…thank you so much…

My condolences to you and your family. I understand and feel your pain since I too was in your shoes a few years ago. I know there is nothing to be said, except maybe the peace in knowing you will see him again. You are in my prayers, Renee (columbus)

Not an easy time in a mans life, losing his dad. You will think of him every day, miss him every day, wish for one more hour with him every day. All you have to do is look up, close your eyes and bring back all the memories you will carry with you forever. He is looking down on you now, protecting you and your family like never before. So when you hear that little voice in the back of your head protecting you……you know who that is.
    Stay strong my friend.

    Jay,

I’ve been thinking about you and your family alot over the last few days. Your dad was such a nice man, as is your whole family. This will be a hard time for you but I know you have tons of relatives and friends to help you through this (me included). I’m praying for you all and asking God to give you the strength needed to get through the next few days.

    Keep the Faith!
