It almost makes you sick how fast summer goes by…..and how LONG winter sticks around!!!

Your favorite blog is sponsored by Pierson Ford in Aberdeen.  We are in day one of our “MEGA SALE.”

In addition to giving away a 55 inch Vizio TV, a gas grill, and dozens of other prizes, we are also offering incredible prices on our pre-owned lot, and AWESOME lease prices on great Ford vehicles!!!  I just did a lease the other day for an 85 year old lady.  A beautiful 85 year old lady.  How’s that for optimism?  Why did she choose to lease?  Because, like many people, she doesn’t feel the need to “own” at this point.  We are seeing everyone from people in their early 20’s, to retired couples coming in to lease.  Maybe you should too!  Contact Pierson Ford by calling us at 1-800-627-1237, or check us out online at http://www.piersonford.com/  Or better yet, stop and see us in the auto plaza, north highway 281 in Aberdeen!!!

This one is SO WRONG.  But SO DOGGONE FUNNY!!!

And now, for your enjoyment, a little “musical humor.”

This one is completely MY sense of humor!

Oh, did I mention, ANOTHER musical joke!!

2.  Going to the “potty”, the “bathroom”, or “the restroom” is vitally important.  In fact, your good health depends on you doing “your job” properly.  With that said, I think I would be HOLDING IT FOREVER if I had this toilet.

Or I would end up “going” while I was standing there. YUCK!!

3.  OUR VACATION WAS HEAVENLY!!!  My beautiful bride and I got back from vacation last week, after spending about 9 days together in Two Harbors, MN and Duluth, MN.  We had a great time, and got to get to know each other again, because we don’t see each other enough during the work year.  (And, I must say, she seems like a very nice lady!)

Here are a couple of pictures from our vacation.  I ABSOLUTELY overshot my limits on this woman!

We have always wanted to see a lighthouse.  On our vacation, we spent time at the Split Rock Lighthouse.

We had a nice surprise in Duluth.  Not even three blocks from our hotel was the site of a concert.  Not just any concert.  RICK SPRINGFIELD.  And his opening act, THE ROMANTICS.  Yep, a couple of staples from the 80’s were playing outdoors near our hotel.  We had quite a thrill running into the drummer for “The Romantics” in a record store in Duluth.  (A record store called “The Electric Fetus.”)  YUCK.

We were down front for the Rick Springfield concert.  Rick even came out into the crowd and brushed against my wife’s shoulder.  He was nice and close.  Looks pretty doggone good for 65!!!

We did a lot of things in Duluth that we have never ever done before.  We took a lake cruise, we fed the seagulls, and, we took a horse ride in a carriage!  We have ALWAYS wanted to do that!

Mapquest.com would be angry with us on our directions we took on the way home.  We went from Duluth to Aberdeen VIA Minneapolis….Yeah.  And then, we went from Minneapolis to Aberdeen VIA Sioux Falls!!!  We probably went a total of 6 hours out of our way, but we wanted to have a birthday supper in Sioux Falls with our son Mitchell and his girlfriend Jessica.  We can NEVER have enough family time!

We went to Minneapolis for a reason. We decided, as long as we were on vacation, that we should go to a Minnesota Twins game!!  The Twins were playing the Detroit Tigers.  We expected a pitching duel between Ervin Santana and Justin Verlander.  Unfortunately, it was one way, as Verlander shut the Twins down.  The Twins trailed 6-1 going into the bottom of the 9th inning, and BOOM!!!  They exploded for SEVEN RUNS in the bottom of the 9th, including a three run homer by Brian Dozier to end the game.  IT WAS UNREAL!!!  As you can tell, we were pumped after the game.

This was one of the best vacations we have ever taken.  I love going places with this woman.  I just wish we could go more places together.  Maybe closer to retirement.

4.  I have a cousin named Tara who thinks she is a comedian.  Actually she has a pretty great sense of humor.  She sent me a message on Facebook the other day that cracked me up.

She said that her and her young son were watching the classic movie “The Sandlot”, and they noticed one of the main characters named “Squints.”

And she was trying to figure out who “Squints” reminded her of.  AND THEN, SADLY, SHE REMEMBERED….

Yes, that is one of my grade school pictures from Britton Elementary School.  It’s no wonder I got beat up a lot! I hate to admit it, but Tara has a pretty good eye!

5.  Here’s the “true picture of the day.”

This picture struck me because this is how I feel.  It seems like every single day there’s someone new who’s “OFFENDED” by something in this world.  Here’s the deal.  People have the right to be offended and whatever.  But it makes me angry to no end that when just a handful of people are angry or offended, then we have to change the entire structure of something to please them.  WHAT ABOUT THE MASSES THAT THINK WHATEVER IT IS IS OKAY?  This “politically correct” B.S. drives me up a wall.  Everyone need to take a deep breath and relax!!!  I’m surprised that some people even have the time to work, eat and sleep with all of the crap they are “offended” by.  RIDICULOUS!!!

6.  We lost a pretty good actor a few days ago.  Alex Rocco died at the age of 79.  Don’t know him?  I BET YOU DO!!

Alex Rocco starred as a Las Vegas casino owner in the legendary movie “The Godfather.”

From 1981-1988 he played Jo’s father, Charlie Polniaczek on the hit TV show “The Facts Of Life.”

Alex Rocco has literally been in dozens and dozens and dozens of movies and TV shows.  Including playing Playtone Records founder Sol Siler in one of my faves, the Tom Hanks movie “That Thing You Do.”

Alex Rocco was a fantastic actor.  He seemed to play a villain quite a few times, but he did it perfectly.  Here he is in recent years.  R.I.P.

7.  My wife and I went out the other night with some of ours friends, and went to see a movie.  This movie!

Yes, it was the classic “Grease”, only this time, WE got to SING ALONG.  All of the words were on the screen when the stars were singing these timeless classics.  It was a BLAST.  We actually had a young couple in their mid 20’s with us, and they loved it too.  The theater people said that “The Sound Of Music” might be next.  THAT SOUNDS AWESOME!!!

8.  I am ABSOLUTELY going to the movies in the next few days.  The new Adam Sandler movie “Pixels” is here.  I know I talked about it before.  All of my favorite 70’s and 80’s video games come to life and try to destroy earth.

Sounds like a very silly premise, but the movie looks good in spite of that.  I mean, who wouldn’t want to watch Pac Man munching down on a big city!!!

9.  We are getting closer and closer to the new Fall TV season, and my wife and I are patiently waiting for the new installment of “American Horror Story.”  This year’s season is based in a HOTEL.  And the weird part of it?  It stars Lady Gaga.  YEAH, LADY GAGA!!

I also just found out today that the incredibly beautiful and incredibly talented Lily Rabe is going to be playing a serial killer in the hotel.

So, we have had a season in a haunted house.  We have had a season in an insane asylum.  We have had a season in a carnival.  And we have had a season about witches.  And now a hotel.  This one could be horrifying.  The problem is, we have STAYED at hotels that have been a nightmare.  Ha Ha

A woman gets on a bus with her baby. The bus driver says, “That’s the ugliest baby that I’ve ever seen. Ugh!” The woman goes to the rear of the bus and sits down, fuming. She says to a man next to her, “The driver just insulted me!” The man says, “You go right up there and tell him off – go ahead, I’ll hold your monkey for you.”
