CALL OFF THE DOGS!  STOP THE SEARCH PARTY!  I AM ALIVE AND WELL!!  Wow, I have really missed doing the blog.  Just wanted to let you know that life has been very, well, let’s just say hectic recently.  Hopefully I’m back on schedule here, so I don’t have to have “blog withdrawal” anymore!

Here is some pretty good advice that you should probably share with your kids!

I sent this one to my wife, and she said, “NO KIDDING.”  Yeah, it’s kind of my favorite food!

This next one made me physically laugh OUT LOUD!

Speaking of animals……

And, finally, a little “Wizard Of Oz” humor.

2.  Well, my little “mini vacation” with my boys is coming up quickly.  You probably remember that we are going to Montgomery, Alabama to live out my dream of seeing the grave and museum of my all time favorite singer/songwriter, Hank Williams.  Plus we are staying in Nashville to see the Grand Ole Opry, plus take in a Tennessee Titans and Indianapolis Colts football game.

So, I’m doing some searching on the internet to see what else is happening in Nashville while we are there.  I just about swallowed my tongue when I found this.  Plus, I think my boys screamed on the phone!!

That’s right, COMIC-CON is going to be in Music City while we are there.  And, yes, I already have tickets in hand.  This is going to be pretty good.  We have always wanted to attend one of these.  Hopefully we won’t be too “nerdy”.  But then again, we want to fit in.  Ha Ha.

There are going to be some pretty big and important people signing autographs and taking pictures the day we are there.  Check this out.  Yes, the “Full House” girl.

Plus, “Dukes Of Hazard” stars John Schneider, Tom Wopat, and Faith, South Dakota’s own, Catherine Bach.

In case you’re wondering, here is what they look like today!

And, Ponch and John from “C.H.I.P.S.”.

Next week can’t get here soon enough!!

3.  My super gorgeous wife had a hair appointment the other day.  I am so glad when she warns me ahead of time.  Many times I cannot tell if she got anything done or not.  Which, as you married guys know, creates, shall we say STRIFE in the household.  That’s why I have been practicing this line.  “Honey, I love what you DID, or DIDN’T do to your hair today.”  That doesn’t work however.  It comes off as very insincere and sarcastic.  Which is, by the way, what I was trying to do!

4.  I have a movie that you need to see.  It’s called “War Room.”

This movie is a great story about the power of prayer.  If you like inspirational films, do not miss this.  The cool thing about this movie is that it was NUMBER ONE in the nation one week, and NUMBER TWO the other week.  You usually don’t see movies with this theme end up number one!  Go see it, I think you’ll love it!!

5.  We have had a ton of celebrity deaths since we last talked.  First of all, the most recent ones.

We just found out today that “R.E.O. SPEEDWAGON” guitarist and songwriter Gary Richrath has died at the age of 65.  He is known for his superb guitar licks, and for writing a few of their classics including “Ridin’ The Storm Out”, and “Take It On The Run.”  Here he is in the 80’s and recently.

Over the weekend we heard more shocking news of yet ANOTHER Philadelphia 76’ERS star passing away.  Just a couple of weeks ago we hard about Darryl Dawkins dying, and now it’s Moses Malone!!  Moses died at the age of 60 this weekend.  He apparently didn’t show up for a golf tournament,  so officials went to his room and found him dead.  Moses Malone was part of my favorite 76’ERS team that won the championship in 1983, and he’s named in the NBA’S top 50 greatest stars of all time.  Here he is back in 1983 with Dr. J. Julius Erving, and one from recently.

Veteran Walt Disney actor Dean Jones died at the age of 84.  You will no doubt remember him from dozens of great Disney movies including this one.

And, we lost a giant in the horror movie business.  Wes Craven died from brain cancer at the age of 76.  Wes is credited for creating one of the most horrific villains in horror movie history.  Freddy Krueger from “Nightmare On Elm Street.”

Plus these two classics.  The first one is one of my “secret loves” in the horror movie genre.

And, I did not know this until recently, but Wes Craven delivered one of the best horror movies of all time.  A movie that scared the buh-jeezus out of my parents back in the early 70’s.

I will forever remember being in second grade and having my Mom and Dad come home from watching this movie.  They were both terrified, and they have both talked about it until this day.

6.  My wife and kids and I miss “The Office.”  It was one of our favorite shows and guilty pleasures that we had together.  With that in mind, the other day I ran into a quote by Kevin from the show.  It’s actually the favorite line of the show for my wife and I.  Here it is.

Kevin was such a loveable buffoon on the show.  This line was, as they say, “TOTALLY KEVIN.”

Well, week one is almost in the books.  Two games coming up tonight, including the Minnesota Vikings playing at 9:15 tonight.  CRIPES…I won’t be in bed until, (GASP) after MIDNITE.

My Washington Redskins started out their, hopefully new regime, including our new QB, the guy who I have wanted to be our quarterback for the past three years.

I have nothing personal against RG3.  I was totally on his bandwagon when he first came out.  But he has had so many injuries and has missed so much time.  We need stability on the QB position.  It’s stability that we haven’t had for years!!

Other notes:

Titan’s new QB Marcus Mariota was incredible yesterday.  He threw four first half touchdown passes in a route over Tampa Bay.  My son Tyler was leaping with joy!!

It looks like Green Bay it taking off from where they left off.  Even without Jordy Nelson, the Packers cleaned up on the Bears.

The Dallas Cowboys scuzzed out in the remaining seconds of the game to beat the New York Giants.  Basically the Giants handed them the game with poor play calling.  I’m glad I fell asleep with a minute and a half to go.  I couldn’t have handled that.

BUT THE BEST NEWS, IN MY OPINION….The Seattle Seahawks were BEATEN by the St. Louis Rams.  I’m not a fan of the Seahawks head coach at all.  I thought that he left USC right before all the penalties were handed out.  He walked away unscathed while his former program took a beating.  I have never respected him after that.

A man had six children and was very proud of his achievement.
He was so proud of himself that he started calling his wife, ‘Mother of Six’, in spite of her objections.
One night they went to a party. He decided that it was time to go home, and wanted to find out if his wife is ready to leave as well.
He shouted at the top of his voice,”Shall we go home, Mother of Six?”
His wife, irritated by her husband’s lack of discretion shouted back, “Anytime you’re ready, Father of Four!”
