2.  jeannie and i had a wonderful day together yesterday….i’ve been working so hard the last few months, that we haven’t had a lot of time to be together.  we spent almost the entire day together sunday and had A BLAST….one of the things we did was to go see the new adam sandler movie “funny people.”  i’ve been dying to see this movie, and i really liked it.  jeannie wasn’t as fond of it as i was.  IT WAS SUPER LONG, THOUGH…they could have easily widdled it down by 45 minutes….adam sandler gives a pretty good performance…one thing i didn’t like?  way to many ummm…how do i say this…..”WEE WEE JOKES.”  we’ll leave it at that..

3.  there are two pastors that have really helped my ministry in hecla.  one is pastor ryan mutzenberger the other one is pastor al magnuson.  as you probably recall, i had the tough duty of saying “so long” to pastor ryan this past summer as he moved on.  now, this coming sunday, i have to say goodbye to pastor al magnuson as he leaves for arizona.  that’s going to be hard…..the question i have is this?  GUYS…WAS IT SOMETHING I SAID?

4.  i just found out a few days ago that GORDON LIGHTFOOT is coming to sioux falls in october…i’ve already informed my wife that we ARE going…i missed a chance to see him a few years ago…i’m not doing it again….

5.  RETIREMENT NEWS:

brad pitt may be retiring from acting at the tender age of 45.  wouldn’t that be nice, folks?  to have the ability to retire early and never ever have to think about financial trouble?  and paul mccartney is gearing up for his final concert tour.  he says that he is going to retire from touring.

6.  tonight we have a get together at some friends house, to be with tyler’s graduating class one last time before they all head out to college…could be a tough one tonight…..

7.  the government is putting more money into fighting obesity.  the food battle is so controversial right now, that president obama is going to be having a beer this week at the white house with the jolly green giant and little debbie.

8.  seventeen percent of american women say that they’ve been sexually activie with one man thier entire life….DAMN, THAT MAN MUST BE TIRED…..

9.  paris hilton claims that michael jackson named his daughter after her…hmmm…i didn’t know that michael jackson had a daughter named “clueless.”

10.  rumors are circulating that 75 year old larry king is getting divorced.  apparently his 48 year old wife misunderstood the “cash for klunkers” program….

11.  JOKE OF THE DAY:

ONE OF MY FAVORITE EVER…

this 16 year old boy walks up to his dad and demands that dad buy him a car.  his dad told the son that he would buy him a car if he does the following things.

1.  gets a haircut

2.  gets his grades up

3.  read the bible everyday…..

so, two months later the boy approaches his dad and asks for the car.  the dad said, “let’s see here….okay, your grades are up…and i know you’ve been reading the bible daily…but your hair is such a mess..it’s so long…you didn’t get it cut.”  the son told the dad, “well, dad, since i read the bible daily, i found out that JESUS had long hair.”  the dad said, “yeah, but if you continue reading, you’ll find out that JESUS walked everywhere that he went.”

LOVE THAT ONE….HAVEA  GREAT MONDAY EVERYBODY…
