our beloved ABERDEEN WINGS take on their arch rival BISMARCK BOBCATS tonight and saturday night at the ODDE ICE ARENA…it’s the playoffs…that’s right, the WINGS made the playoffs in their second season….
the series is tied 1-1…it would be HUGE if we beat them twice this weekend and knock them out of the playoffs….

SHEMP HOWARD was the third brother of the HOWARD family, and he died on november 22nd, 1955 at the age of 60….
a guy by the name of JOE DERITA took over the CURLY role…he was known as the sixth stooge….here’s a picture of the guys later in thier career with CURLY JOE DERITA….
JOE DERITA was the last stooge to die…he passed away on july 3rd, 1993 at the age of 83…..

7. i work out a lot of mornings at ANYTIME FITNESS. i usually try to be there by 3:15am to put a good hour or more in. well, i have a complaint….TV SUCKS AT THAT TIME OF THE MORNING….i usually take my I-POD with to listen to christian music, but i had it in my pocket this morning and couldn’t find it…so, i used my headphones to watch tv….NOTHING BUT CRAPPY INFOMERCIALS…..here’s the deal…i’m not buying any of your crappy stuff, so leave me alone..ha ha….

5. what an incredible GOOD FRIDAY service at ST. JOHN’S IN HECLA on friday night….i always love this service, because it’s so emotional surrounding the crucifixion of JESUS….the service was fantastic, but the best part was the ending…..all of the church lights went out, except for a small spotlight at the front of the church…three of my confirmation girls walked slowly up the aisle wearing complete black…they got in front of the spotlight, and then another one of my church girls started playing “WERE YOU THERE WHEN THEY CRUCIFIED MY LORD.” my confirmation girls did the motions to the song…i stood in the back with tears coming out of my eyes…it was beautiful…heard lots of comments on that….our church secretary PAM draws up tremendous services, and this was one of the best i have seen in my eight years in HECLA…after the song was done, people could stay and pray, or leave quietly…it was amazing….
6. HOLY WEEK took it’s toll on me….i had a pastor friend tell me years ago that if you can make it thru HOLY WEEK you can make it thru anything….i was up in HECLA wednesday, thursday, friday, and sunday……in addition to the church services, i had a funeral and confirmation…..i hardly left the couch on saturday…completely exhausted…..
7. my friend JEFF BAHR’S blog has ended at the AMERICAN NEWS….this upsets me….JEFF had a really good blog that had lots of fun stuff in it….he always came up with stuff that i never thought about, and i would laugh out loud reading it…sounds like it was a management decision…not a very smart one though, in my opinion….
8. an upscale mattress store in NEW YORK CITY’S “SOHO” neighborhood created a nap room where ANYONE is welcome to come off the street and take a test nap, with no strings attached…the store is called “BEDBUGS R US.”
9. a MUNCIE, INDIANA woman was arrested for allegedly severing her boyfriends manhood….the funny part is what hospital he was taken to…no kidding..he was taken to BALL MEMORIAL HOSPITAL….( you can’t make stuff like that up)

6. well, i came out virtually unscathed last night at confirmation in HECLA….i was so concerned that my confirmation kids were going to make it FOUR WEEKS IN A ROW of playing pranks on me….last night was quiet…or was it? maybe they did something and i haven’t found it yet….great…now i can’t breathe…..
7. i got to HECLA a bit early yesterday, so i put on my clothes, got on the highway and walked and ran two and a half miles…i’m so glad i’m back in the swing of working out…by the way, i’ve dropped five pounds in the past week…..hopefully another 20-25 yet to come….

14. JOKE OF THE DAY…(kind of long, but very funny….)
A guy walks into a bar with his pet monkey. He orders a drink and while he’s drinking it the monkey jumps around all over the place. The monkey grabs some olives off the bar and eats them, then grabs some sliced limes and eats them, then jumps up on the pool table, grabs the cue ball, sticks it in his mouth and swallows it whole.
The bartender screams at the guy, “Did you see what your monkey just did?”
The guy says, “No, what?”
“He just ate the cue ball off my pool table, whole!” says the bartender.
“Yeah, that doesn’t surprise me,” replied the patron. “He eats everything in sight. I’ll pay for the cue ball and stuff.”
He finishes his drink, pays his bill, and leaves.
Two weeks later he’s in the bar again, and he has his monkey with him. He orders a drink and the monkey starts running around the bar again. While the man is drinking, the monkey finds a maraschino cherry on the bar. He grabs it, sticks it up his butt, pulls it out, and eats it.
The bartender is disgusted. “Didja see what your monkey did now?” he asks.
“Now what?” responds the patron.
“Well, he stuck a cherry up his butt, then pulled it out and he ATE it!” says the barkeep.
“Yeah, that doesn’t surprise me,” replied the patron. “He still eats everything in sight, but ever since he ate that damn cue ball he measures everything first.”

6. wow..yesterday must have been my “crash and burn” day…you can only keep up a schedule for so long before it catches up with you, and apparently it was my day yesterday…i fell asleep in my car right after work, and ended up sleeping at MELGAARD PARK for over an hour…i woke up, did some work, went home, fell asleep for another hour or more, got up, had supper, and went to bed at 8:30 and slept until 4am this morning…..feel pretty good today, but yesterday was awful…
7. we’re getting a little too sensative nowdays….the other night on the ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS, which i do not watch anymore because country, in my opinion is awful today, ASHTON KUTCHER appeared on stage and gave away an award dressed in western gear….
first of all, i thought he looked very nice…secondly, HE’S A COMEDIAN FOLKS!! he’s known for being funny…SOMETIMES…anyway, a few of the newbies in country music apparently were upset that he was “making fun of our music.” okay, here’s the deal…first of all, SHUT UP…second of all, get a sense of humor….don’t be so sensative….he’s not the first one to have a little fun about country music…..concentrate on your so-called musical skills, and relax a bit…

5. well, the morning workouts at 3:15am are going great at ANYTIME FITNESS…i also try to work out in the afternoon as well…at least go for a walk…..i would sure like to go to bed at 8:00 at night, but, of course, my busy schedule doesn’t allow for that….a nap in the afternoon after working out sure feels great…
6. i had this brilliant idea for supper for tonight…i don’t know why i thought of this last night, but i dreamed up meatballs with stuffing inside of them…..i’ll try them tonight and let you know tomorrow if they are worth a hoot….
7. counting today, i have FIVE DAYS left of the LENTEN season, before i start drinking DIET PEPSI again….i think i will definetly cut down on pop now….however, as i have mentioned before, i MUST drink pop when i eat popcorn or pizza…water just doesn’t cut it….

A man had been drinking at the bar for hours when he mentioned something about his girlfriend being out in the car. The bartender, concerned because it was so cold, went to check on her. When he looked inside the car, he saw the man’s friend, Dave, and his girlfriend kissing one another. The bartender shook his head and walked back inside.
He told the drunk that he thought it might be a good idea to check on his girlfriend. The fellow staggered outside to the car, saw his buddy and his girlfriend kissing, then walked back into the bar laughing.
“What’s so funny?” the bartender asked.
“That stupid Dave!” the fellow chortled, “He’s so drunk, he thinks he’s me!”
